VENTURE's 5K Road Race and Fun Walk PDF

This year’s 5K Fun Walk and Run was another remarkable success as it marked our ninth anniversary hosting this event. This year’s event was dedicated towards encouraging the community to grow more food in order to keep down the high cost of living and was named “Green Run Race.”
The event was once again held in collaboration with Athletics Central and was sanctioned by the National Amateur Athletics Association.

VENTURE’s 5K Fun Walk and Run attracted a host of outstanding athletics such as Curtis Cox, Richard Jones and Errol “ Baldhead” Williams just to name a few. This event also attracted two international runners, Serge Gasore and Nicodemas Niamadu both of whom were managed by Dereck Hood.

On the day itself, The Ministry of Agriculture hosted an exhibition of beds of food products coupled by the distribution of seedlings to “motivate the population to pursue gardening as a serious hobby.” Also as an added attraction, a cultural program and wellness both for eye testing and readings for blood pressure were also available to both participants and well wishers.

VENTURE will like to extend its’ sincerest appreciation to the government institutions and corporate members of the wider community involved in the exercise: Methanex, Plipdeco, NGC, NEC, Yara, Methanol, Phoenix Park Gas, CUNA, Central Credit Union, SECU, Rhand, IPSL, The Couva/Tabaquite/Talparo Regional Corporation, Quality Cash and Carry, The Couva Police,  The Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Marine Resource.
